Les Suisses ne changent pas une formule qui fonctionne à merveille ; on peut leur reprocher de ne pas beaucoup faire évoluer leur musique mais certainement pas de ne pas savoir écrire de bonnes chansons.
Leur Hard Rock dépouillé prend un peu d’ampleur avec une production plus ambitieuse. Pour autant, on ne trouve aucun artifice superflu, juste des Gibson branchées sur des distos, et on laisse faire le Rock’n Roll.
Cet album est moins régulier que les précédents, il apporte aussi davantage de variété. Si certains morceaux sont moins bons que ceux que le groupe nous avait livré auparavant, nous avons droit, en guise de compensation, à de véritables chefs-d’œuvre : “Why Don’t You Call Me” qui ouvre les hostilités, “Watching You” et surtout “She’s My Pride” qui propulsent le groupe à un niveau très supérieur. Sans oublier “Too Close”, l’un des meilleurs morceaux que le groupe ait livré jusqu’à présent : une intro inoubliable suivi de riffs d’une terrible efficacité servant de support à un refrain imparable.
SHAKRA confirme ici son talent et livre un album en tous points remarquable. Hélas une promotion timide et un artwork minable n’ont pas permis au groupe de trouver le chemin de la gloire.
