La reformation du groupe avec son line-up originel n’est plus un secret, une tournée mondiale est même planifiée. Le problème c’est qu’un album avec le nouveau line-up était sur le point de sortir. Or le label, voulant éviter les fuites de cassettes pirates se multipliant sans cesse, décide de sortir l’album bâtard coûte que coûte. Le résultat est à la hauteur de l’enthousiasme du groupe : pas top !
La production est très convenable (on s’attendait à une maquette améliorée) mais elle n’arrange pas les choses. Les compositions en ressortent donc assez plates et banales.
Sans doute aurait-il été préférable que cet album ne sorte jamais. C’est en tous cas ce qu’ont du penser Paul Stanley et Gene Simmons qui n’en parlent presque pas. D’ailleurs le livret est famélique, comme pour qu’on oublie vite ce disque.
De leur côté Eric Singer et surtout Bruce Kulick (qui est membre de KISS depuis 12 ans) ont les boules...
