Le Stoner est un genre où il est difficile d’exceller. D’abord parce que tous les groupes se ressemblent un peu et parce que toutes les chansons d’un même album se ressemblent un peu ! C’est le cas de ce Devil Child Blues. Le groupe a beaucoup de qualités qu’il serait injuste de ne pas citer : un son authentique puisant dans le passé comme le veut le style - mais évitant soigneusement de nous embouteiller les oreilles avec des parasites et des défauts de fabrication – une batterie nerveuse, une rythmique lourde et un chant granuleux. De même il faut signaler que certains titres méritent une écoute attentive : “I Breathe Fire” et son rythme lourdissime qui rappelle BLACK SABBATH, le rapide “Jetpack”. Le problème vient de l’endurance ; à moins d’être friand de ce genre musical, il est assez difficile de ne pas sentir poindre un zeste d’impatience au cours des 49 minutes que dure cet album.
