Du coup, rentré chez moi, je me fais à bouffer, et je cours sur mon PC pour trouver matière à me réchauffer.
Ce soir, je calais un peu…
Et puis je me suis souvenu de ce bandcamp de la veille, au nom prometteur…Comment déjà ???
Ah oui, Worldwide Powerviolence. Avec un blaze pareil, impossible de ne pas attirer MON attention.
Chose faite, CQFD.
Alors, une fois réalisé que j’étais en possession des fichiers digitaux en question, j’ai extrait le tout dans un joli dossier.
Que j’ai ouvert, et intégré à winamp.
Et là…
J’ai eu chaud.
Ok, il est temps de devenir moins évasif. Worldwide Powerviolence est bien sur une compilation comme vous l’aurez deviné, mais pas n’importe laquelle. D’abord elle n’existe qu’en cassette, et puis elle regroupe vingt groupes de diverses nationalités, mais qui ont tous en commun leur option musicale débridée et bruitiste.
On retrouve donc sur ce sampler EXTORTION, WATER TORTURE, SKUFF, DAMAGED GOODS, SUPER MUTANT, MORAL PANIC, GETS WORSE, MANGLE, HAUNTED GROUND, WAR TRAUMA, MEAN AND UGLY, REVENGEANCE, HARUKA, FRANK GRIMES, 466/64, WORLD NERCOSIS, WTCHDR, HENRY FONDA, PODA PA, soit la quintessence underground de l’expression sonore terroriste.
Le tout est bien sur extrêmement violent, rapide, bordélique, mais séduisant. L’affaire, par son traitement, son support et ses choix est résolument Punk, et son contenu lui oscille entre le Crust notoire, le Grind bâtard, le Speedcore d’abattoir, et le Hardcore de trottoir.
Mais c’est diablement enthousiasmant…
On a souvent l’impression de se retrouver à la grande époque du tape trading, fin des années 80, lorsqu’il était impossible de se procurer les nouveautés autrement qu’en les échangeant par la poste. Et ça fait du bien, surtout à notre époque, contaminée par les traitements numériques, le son uniformisé, et les musiciens interchangeables obsédés par la perfection.
Ici, tout est imparfait. De l’interprétation, souvent hasardeuse, aux niveaux sonores, scrupuleusement d’origine, et donc inégaux. C’est le règne du naturel, de l’amateurisme, don’t give a fuck and one more beer…
Après, pour être tout à fait honnête, je ne saurais vous dire quel groupe j’ai préféré… Et c’est plutôt logique dirais je, puisque Worldwide Powerviolence est le genre de cocktail qui s’avale d’un trait, sans réfléchir, et qui ramone les conduits.
Mais bon, admettons une tendance au riff dissonant chez SUPER MUTANT, accordons la palme du son le plus crispant à WAR TRAUMA (qui du coup mérite bien son nom), du morceau le plus court à DAMAGED GOODS, de l’attitude la plus hystérique à JESSE INMAN, de l’enrobage le plus épais à GETS WORSE, et du non sens musical à MORAL PANIC. Quant au traitement vocal chez REVENGEANCE, ça tient du miracle.
Pour le reste, achetez la cassette. Juste pour le fun, ou le plaisir.
Mettez ça dans un vieil autoradio pourri, à fond si possible, ouvrez la vitre, et passez vingt fois par jour dans le même quartier.
Le vingt et unième jour, coupez le contact, sortez de la voiture et observez.
Si personne ne chie sur son paillasson en hurlant « GDF Suez veut ma peau !!!! », je renonce à ma collection de figurines Hilary Duff.
