Buvez, car ceci est mon sang.
Depuis 2002, HEMORAGY n'a jamais caché à personne son attirance pour l'alcool, à tel point que la vinasse piquante était au centre du prometteur Jesus King Of Wine, sorti en 2007. C'est d'ailleurs avec ce fait d'armes que les Parisiens ont inscrit leur nom dans le Grand Livre du Metal tricolore. Depuis, il faut avouer qu'HeadBang Till Death (2010), est passé un peu inaperçu, souffrant probablement d'un degré alcoolique pas assez significatif. Mais que les amateurs de comas éthyliques se rassurent, avec l'arrivée de The Thirst World War, toute forme de sobriété en prendra pour son grade. Faisant une fois encore l'apologie de la picole par le biais d'une pochette bien moche qui illustre les tendances à la consommation de chaque pays (bière pour l'Allemagne, tequila pour le Mexique, vodka pour la Russie, rhum pour les Antilles, champagne pour la France), le tout sous le regard attentif de Bacchus, dieu du vin, de l'ivresse et des débordements, HEMORAGY se lance dans le binge drinking avec un quatrième opus qui se contente d'être bêtement consommé.
Et pourquoi ? Parce que le Heavy / Thrash du trio n'a pas vocation à faire dans le vin de garde, dans le Bourbon raffiné. On ne parle pas avec eux de robe, de parfums de sous-bois (si ce n'est alors le parfum de la pisse), de notes de fruits rouges. On boit, on s'oublie, ça fait du bien et basta. The Thirst World War est un album d'un grand classicisme et d'une grande efficacité. En général, on sait pourquoi on se tourne vers HEMORAGY. On recherche la percussion, la simplicité, le feeling old-school à la MOTÖRHEAD, le confort le plus sommaire et le plaisir le plus primaire. A grands coups de riffs Thrash, le groupe assène sa musique comme autant de bouteilles décapsulées. Ca pète dans tous les sens. On ne compte plus les solos, les envolées techniques, les cavalcades rythmiques. HEMORAGY reste fidèle à son image de groupe casse-cou, un peu barré mais relativement authentique. Ce n'est pas de l'Art, ça n'a rien de magique mais ça marche, parce qu'on ressent dans ces quelques compositions le respect de nos fondations métalliques. MOTÖRHEAD est omniprésent mais également ACCEPT (pour "Turning Into A Lush", ANTHRAX, SLAYER et les autres grands noms du Thrash U.S. La voix de Johannes colle parfaitement à l'esprit houblonné du CD. C'est limite si son timbre rayé ne vous souffle pas une haleine de lendemain de cuite au visage. Quant à son frangin Steve, sa performance à la batterie mérite d'être remarquée. Le garçon semble beaucoup plus à l'aise, utilisant ses baguettes avec un poil plus de dextérité que sur HeadBang Till Death. Et à côté de tous ces éléments technico-techniques, il y a le rire, la bonne humeur, le fun d'une "Evil Sausage" kitsch au possible mais savoureuse qui côtoie un "Gallia Comata" chanté en français ou un "1518" peut-être un peu plus sérieux. Ce melting-pot s'ingurgite aussi vite qu'une mousse en plein cagnard. Ca désaltère sur le coup mais en vrai, ça ne fait qu'accentuer la sensation de soif.
C'est donc sans surprise qu'HEMORAGY propose trois ans après sa dernière sortie un apéro propre et convivial. Ici, pas de bouchées feuilletées au saumon et aux pointes d'asperges vertes mais ce bon vieux sauciflard. Classique mais apprécié de tous. C'est ça, la recette secrète du trio. Ils savent qu'ils ne côtoieront jamais des sommets en termes de renommée, mais ils s'éclatent et on s'éclate avec eux. Encore un verre et on fait la chenille.
