Pour son second album solo, Billy Greer s'est à nouveau associé au guitariste Mike Slamer pour co-écrire mais aussi pour produire, mixer et, naturellement, pour jouer dessus. Cette union est une parfaite réussite ; elle permet à Greer de mettre entre parenthèses son expérience avec KANSAS et de livrer une œuvre plus personnelle. Bien que l'approche générale de l'album soit commerciale, il n'est pas question ici de refrains accrocheurs à chaque titre, l'objectif étant davantage de communiquer une émotion à travers des compositions parfaitement maîtrisées et d'une extraordinaire maturité. Chaque titre bénéficie d'une approche différente, d'une personnalité propre, et il est vite difficile de dire lequel est moins bon que les autres. Il faudra certainement plusieurs écoutes aux oreilles peu familières de ce type de musique pour en apprécier les nombreuses qualités et se laisser envoûter car il n'y a rien de tapageur, le charme étant omniprésent mais pas ostentatoire. A cet égard "You Cross The Line" est un modèle du genre - une longue ballade avec des changements de rythmes - que de nombreux groupes ont tenté de nous servir et qui trouve ici un ton d'une justesse rare. Les deux compères ont dû être convaincus du résultat car ils réitèrent l'exercice sur "The Raging Fire", une autre réussite. Plus dynamiques, " Run " influencée par DEF LEPPARD, ainsi que " Sin City " et " Winds Of War " nous réservent de bons moments. Mais la grande réussite de cet album est sans conteste "Pyramid Princess" aux multiples influences - notamment un break oriental à la façon de Jimmy Page.
Ajoutons, pour achever de vous convaincre, que la production est impeccable et que presque tous les solos sont intéressants. "Raging Fire" comblera les fans de ce style de musique.
