HIMINBJORG est un groupe de Pagan Metal français formé en 1996. L’album Chants d’Hier, Chants De Guerre, Chants De la Terre est tout de même leur sixième album. Le groupe s’inspire fortement de la nature et des différentes cultures païennes qu’ils tentent de retransmettre dans leur musique.
Dès l’intro de « Conviction » , on sent planer l’ombre d’AGALLOCH, de SUMMONING ou encore de EMPYRIUM, dans leurs mélodies. Bercé par les chœurs puis happé par la voix growlée, on embarque rapidement dans l’univers de HIMINBJORG, véritable ode à l’univers, aux différentes cultures et à la nature, qu’on ressent par ailleurs dans les paroles ainsi que sur l‘artwork. Délivrant un Folk/Doom/Pagan, les français nous envoient ici 10 titres principalement dans la langue de Molière. Les tracks défilent, les mélodies sont bien ficelées et musicalement c’est plutôt inspiré. On a le droit a des morceaux festifs comme « Destin De Sang », des titres plus Black comme le bien nommé « Black » ou encore a de sublimes mélodies (« Chant De La Lune », « Lonely »). Mais malgré cela, l’ensemble reste un peu trop plat. Peut être est-ce dû au choix de l’auto-production et ce manque de pêche qui lasse un peu. Mais après tout, c’est affaire de gout et le groupe ne se cache pas de faire de la musique ambiante.
Chants d’Hier, Chants De Guerre, Chants De la Terre reste tout de même un album intéressant à découvrir destiné à tous ceux qui savent tendre l’oreille, aux fans des groupes cités plus haut ou tout simplement aux amoureux de la nature.
