Que Patrick Rondat soit parvenu a inscrire son nom sur la – courte – liste des guitar heroes est un bel exploit, qu’il ait survécu aux années 90 qui ont marqué la mort de ce genre est un miracle. Son opiniâtreté et sa sensibilité sont certainement les raisons de sa survie. Ce nouvel album en est l’exemple. On y retrouve une technicité époustouflante et une interprétation extrêmement précise, mais surtout le désir de continuer à composer selon ses propres désirs, selon ses aspirations, ce qui nous épargne toute comparaison avec tel ou tel autre guitariste. D’autre part, l’album est assez varié, alternant les ambiances intimes et les averses de notes.
Patrick Rondat nous donne une claque… c’est normal, il est le maître de l’aller-retour !
