Avec cet album il est évident que les Suédois ne comptent pas révolutionner le Metal. N’y cherchez donc aucune avancée, aucune idée nouvelle. Contentez-vous de prendre du plaisir à l’écoute d’une heure de bon vieux Heavy Metal des familles ! Tous les ingrédients sont réunis pour séduire les nombreux aficionados de ce style : riffs puissants, double grosse caisse déchaînée, chant haut perché, refrains accrocheurs et mélodieux…
Plutôt que de s’aventurer dans un genre qui ne leur correspond pas, les gars de NOCTURNAL RITES font ce qu’ils aiment et ça s’entend. On peut leur reprocher de manquer de recul mais on doit admettre qu’ils maîtrisent leur sujet.
Ce “New World Messiah” fait taper du pied et headbanger avec spontanéité, preuve de son efficacité.
Notons la présence d’“Egyptica”, un titre plus original et d’ailleurs plus long (près de 6 minutes), dont le rythme est plus lent, qui s’ouvre sur un break très progressif avec des changements de rythmes. C’est une belle réussite qui devrait rassurer le combo suédois sur ses capacités à évoluer vers une musique plus personnelle.
