Constitué au cours de l’année 2000, NO COMPROMISE s’affirme comme étant un groupe mixant Hardcore et Thrash avec des parties mélodiques. L’année 2001 voit quant à elle l’arrivée sur le marché de leur première démo de cinq titres, puis deux ans plus tard sort l’enregistrement du premier MCD Life Is A Whore We Can’t Pay sur Disagree Records. Les Poitevins réalisent enfin leur premier album avec 6 Billions Failures [Work In Progress], soit un concentré d’une demi-heure de Hardcore.
Puisant leurs influences dans des courants musicaux aussi variés que le Punk en passant par le Hip Hop et bien évidemment le Thrash, NO COMPROMISE délivre douze morceaux assez groovy et catchy. Pourtant, aucun morceau ne semble se détacher du lot, la mayonnaise ne prend pas, ce qui se révèle dommage à la longue, surtout dans un style bref et dépouillé comme le Hardcore. Enregistré dans le studio du bassiste du quintet originaire de Poitiers, on constate que les parties de basse ne sont pas très audibles, et le chant quant à lui, manque un peu de puissance et de cohésion. Enfin, en ce qui concerne les guitares, leurs sonorités se montrent trop sèches et rêches.
Se réclamant d’un brassage musical, on ne ressent malheureusement pas les autres influences, excepté sur l’interlude de type ambiant «A Fix Before The Cut», on n’a pas grand chose à se mettre sous la dent. Il en résulte une sensation d’inachevé en écoutant ce disque. C’est d’autant plus regrettable car NO COMPROMISE ne manque pas de talent en tout cas.
