De même qu'il existe des albums de guitar-heros, il y a des albums de singer-heros ! "Wait" en est un. Non seulement les autres musiciens sont en retrait car il s'agit de rock mélodique où les gros accords n'ont pas leur place, mais l'époustouflante voix de Michael Matijevic surplombe l'ensemble dès qu'elle apparaît.
Sur le fond, tenez-vous bien : c'est du hard FM qui tend vers le rock, très peu de guitares saturées, aucune agressivité, des titres très mous, etc… et pourtant, c'est bien ! ! ! Alors, par quel miracle STEEHEART parvient-il à faire aimer un album aussi éloigné du genre musical qui nous intéresse habituellement ? La réponse est simple : la qualité. En tournant le dos au hard FM des débuts, le groupe cherche - et trouve - un style aboutit, pure, d'une fluidité étonnante. On pense bien sûr à LED ZEPPELIN tant le chant s'approprie les dérives de Robert Plant (on croirait entendre Lenny Wolf, c'est dire !), mais sur le plan des compositions on est plus proche de U2. Ajouter à ça un peu de blues/rock, de très beaux solos (qui ont survécus au passé du groupe) et vous obtenez une bonne surprise.
Bien sûr, cet album ne pourra satisfaire les métalleux purs et durs, il n'en a pas l'intention, mais si vous nourrissez un quelconque intérêt pour le rock mélodique, celui-ci est à prescrire.
