Bon, fade est le premier mot qui me vient à l'esprit après plusieurs écoutes de ce concept album de DRAGONLAND. Ce groupe est le parfait exemple pour prouver que le Speed Metal Mélodique commence à tourner en rond. Est-ce la fin de ce genre ? Peut être pas, REQUIEM nous a prouvé dernièrement qu'on pouvait encore faire de bonnes choses en la matière.
Cet album est bien produit (Charlee D'Angelo qui est aussi connu pour avoir produit King Diamond), sur ce point rien à dire. Le son ressemble au son de centaines d'autres groupes à tel point que j'ai cru que c'était du Paeth. Donc pas d'originalité non plus de ce côté.
La musique du groupe n'offre rien de nouveau, un chanteur à la voix aigu, des solos (trop ?) techniques difficiles à mémoriser, de la double grosse caisse en veux-tu en voilà, rien que le nom du groupe est un cliché et je ne parle même pas du sujet des textes. Les lignes de chants sont convenus, je me suis même surpris à décrocher et à penser à autre chose durant l'écoute.
Vous l'aurez compris, je n'ai pas aimé cet album. Il conviendra peut être à quelqu'un qui découvre ce genre de musique ou à un vrai passionné de Speed Mélodique, mais je ne fais pas partie de l'une ou l'autre de ces catégories. Je ne suis donc pas la cible rêver pour ce genre de produit. Espérons que le prochain sera plus recherché.
