On sait pertinemment depuis un moment que la France regorge de bons groupes de Metal, surtout dans l’extrême ou bons nombres de formations talentueuses s’exportent bien comme BENIGHTED, BLUT AUS NORD, YYRKOON.
CARNAL LUST, le groupe de Death parisien, à la réputation aujourd’hui établie et reconnue par ses pairs et la presse spécialisée a mis un certain temps à se faire connaître et se faire une place dans le milieu. Formé en 1998, il faudra attendre 2002 pour voir la sortie de leur premier album Whore of Violence. Si dès leurs débuts, les cinq musiciens de la banlieue parisienne sont nettement orientés pour un son Death Metal, les multiples répétitions, les démos et les concerts feront évoluer le groupe pour l’emmener vers un son plus Brutal Death flirtant avec le Grind. Cela finira d’asseoir leur solide et sulfureuse réputation. C’est ainsi qu’un an plus tard, CARNAL LUST nous décoche en pleine tronche son MCD Rebirth in Hate, un très bon et bref moment de Brutal Death comprenant quatre titres. Un quart d’heure de furie, de folie, de brutalité, bref le combo marque encore les esprits.
CARNAL LUST lance l’assaut avec le titre «Kingdom of Hate», monument de dévastation à la production crue et bestiale. «G.O.D», sonne plus mélodique aux ambiances Death plus "posées", cela reste du gros Death qui tache. L Chuck D, le frontman du groupe exerce ces talents en crachant ses growls sans la moindre concession. Les compositions, tant sur leur construction que dans l’interprétation remarquable font la différence d’emblée. La piste suivante «Soulless Man» continue dans cette direction virulente. Mais le meilleur reste à venir avec le dernier morceau, «Invasion From Earth», une débauche de sauvagerie de toute beauté. Des riffs incisifs, de la lourdeur, un mélange de Death Grind de folie. La production assurée par le combo lui-même apporte aux compositions un son extrêmement cru, rond qui sied parfaitement à l’atmosphère des titres de CARNAL LUST.
Un MCD excellent, court dont l’impact se fait direct et entêtant. CARNAL LUST a bien fait avec ce MCD réussi avant de sortir leur prochain opus, histoire de mettre l’eau à la bouche des suiveurs de ce groupe francilien de talent. Une valeur sûre du Death hexagonal.
