Initialement formé en 1997, il faudra plus de quatre ans au groupe allemand pour trouver son nom et son line-up définitifs. Mais il lui faudra plus longtemps encore pour trouver son style si bien qu'en 2001 lorsque Limb Music accepte de distribuer sa première galette, le résultat est loin d'être probant. Sans pour autant nous ennuyer ferme, l'album n'apporte pas grand chose au genre et peine à se démarquer des autres productions du label d'un niveau général, certes, plutôt relevé.
En fait, si l'album ne casse pas des briques, les membres du groupe pris individuellement, font plutôt du bon travail; le chanteur grec Jioti Parcharidis montre même de réelles qualités avec une amplitude vocale dont il joue efficacement sur le premier (et meilleur) titre de l'album, « The Dragon's Lair ». Le problème vient en fait des mélodies, sans réelle consistance, qui ne mettent pas vraiment en valeur le travail du groupe; ajoutez à cela la mollesse récurrente des rythmes, et vous obtiendrez un album relativement insipide. Malgré des musiciens compétents et une réalisation soignée, le groupe ne parvient pas à donner corps à un univers médiéval fantastique qu'on devine riche à en croire les paroles; l'album qui se veut épique manque finalement de souffle et d'originalité et c'est d'autant plus dommage que certaines chansons sortent du lot; on pense au morceau d'ouverture « The Dragon's Lair » ainsi qu'à « Lord of the Earth and Heavens Hair », chanson éponyme sélectionnée par Limb Music pour figurer dans sa compil Louder than The Dragon.
Pour le reste, l'album est honnête mais plutôt fade. Par contraste, la surprise du très bon second album de HUMAN FORTRESS sorti en 2003 sera d'autant plus appréciable.
