KESTMORG est né des cendres du groupe UNORTHODOX en 1999. Après de nombreux problèmes de line up, le groupe se stabilise début 2004 autour de trois membres principaux, Sheidramm aux synthés et à la basse, (le principal compositeur), Saycorax à la batterie et L.G. Lorusso au Chant. Ce qui est marquant sur cette autoproduction est le fait que le groupe compte trois musiciens de session !!! On peut donc se poser la question de la légitimité de celui-ci… en effet il s’agit quand même des postes de guitaristes rythmique (Alessandro Miandi) et soliste (Denis Giacomuzzi ), et de Alexia Pillepich, chanteuse omniprésente tout au long des trois titres que compte Infective Vultures Receptacle.
Le premier morceau, dont le titre est le même que celui du MCD, commence par une intro que n’aurait pas renié CRADLE OF FILTH, puis enchaîne sur des riffs Thrash et assez simplistes. Les claviers sont omniprésents, voir envahissants. « Infective Vultures Receptacle » déborde d’idées, de riffs, de breaks, d’ambiances si bien qu’on se demande si ce morceau possède une structure. Les voix sont à la fois criardes, typique au Black Metal, parfois graves et caverneuses. Elles sont doublées par un chant clair féminin qui apporte une once de douceur mais cela rend le morceau très touffu et complexe.
Le second titre « Enraptured Sorceries » dure un peu moins longtemps que son prédécesseur (5 min 02) mais on y retrouve les mêmes caractéristiques : Synthé omniprésent, structure complexe, le rythme est soutenu et les guitares sont accrocheuses. Les orchestrations et la multitude de détails font sans aucun doute penser à certains morceaux de EMPEROR sur Anthems…
Le dernier morceau « Ice Tech Expanse » est dans une plus ambiance plus tempérée, malsaine, genre B.O. de film d’horreur. Le rythme est mid tempo au début mais celui-ci accélère rapidement. Les voix sont doublées et la performance de la vocaliste féminine est à souligner. Les mélodies sont facilement assimilables, et les synthés sont grandioses. En dépit de la surcharge des détails, des idées et de la complexité des riffs, « Ice Tech Expanse » est le morceau le plus convaincant de cette autoproduction.
Au final, Infective Vultures Receptacle est donc beaucoup trop chargé et confus pour être facile d’approche. Il lui manque une ligne conductrice. Il y a beaucoup trop d’influence et de mélange Black, Thrash, Death, Horror… ce qui fait que le groupe recherche toujours son propre style.
