Encore un live, direz-vous ? Il est vrai que si le Live Evolution se justifiait largement, on peut se demander pourquoi les musiciens de Seattle ont décidé de remettre le couvert si tôt. Allaient-ils nous réserver une bonne surprise, un concept inédit, quelque chose d’énorme qui motiverait l’achat d’un nouveau cd ?
« Allez vous faire foutre » semble être la réponse du groupe et/ou de la maison de disque pour qui les fans sont décidément tellement cons qu’ils vont bien se jeter sur ce nouveau produit. Pourtant, à l’heure d’internet, les gars, il vaut mieux réfléchir à deux fois !
Mon vrai problème avec cet album, c’est que j’aime le groupe. Alors, forcément, ça me fait du mal de le voir dans cet état. Je ne crois pas avoir entendu souvent de live aussi mal produit. Le son est exécrable, les instruments ne sonnent pas, bref nous ne sommes pas loin d’un bon pirate ! Tenez-vous bien, cet album réussit la performance unique d’enregistrer Geoff Tate à la limite de la justesse ! Il fallait le faire.
Alors, certes les titres sont intéressants, c’est QUEENSRYCHE quand même, mais avec une telle production, le plaisir disparaît bien vite. Ajoutons que nous re-servir « Anybody Listening » et « The Needle Lies » alors qu’elles figuraient sur Operation Live Crime dans des versions autrement plus concluantes, c’est un peu gonflé.
La maison de disque (qui a refusé de nous accorder une interview du groupe) ne pourra pas se plaindre de l’essor du MP3 !
