SYLVESTER STALINE évolue dans le même registre que GRONIBARD, difficile de ne pas le constater tant les similitudes sont nombreuses. Aussi bien au niveau des illustrations délirantes proposées dans le livret qui accompagne l’album que par le style proposé, c’est comme on s’y attend : furieux et décalé.
Le premier méfait de SYLVESTER STALINE comporte donc des ingrédients bien connus des amateurs du genre : un Grindcore épais et gras comme une boîte de loukoums, exhalant des relents de riffs Punk joués à un vitesse supersonique à ne pas mettre entre toutes les oreilles. Etant desservi par un son de très bonne facture indispensable pour ce genre de production, le son de batterie n’est jamais noyé sous une soupe de guitares. Un très bon point pour la production épurée sans jamais sombrer dans le minimalisme. Ce sont 33 morceaux qui s’enchaînent avec guère plus de 2 minutes au compteur à chaque fois, à l’exception de ce « Too Fucking Long » qui clôture l’album, long de 8 minutes. Les morceaux au titre parfois hilarant comme « You play Stoner But You Don’t Even Know Black Sabbath Because You Are Born In 1981 » sont souvent entrecoupés par des répliques de cinémas totalement décalées qui installent tout au long de l’album une ambiance particulièrement loufoque et bon enfant. Pour finir si vous voulez vous plonger encore plus profondément dans l’univers frappadingue de SYLVESTER STALLINE, on ne peut que chaudement vous conseiller d’aller visiter leur site web, un must.
Une très bonne surprise à découvrir d’urgence sur scène, là ou le Grindcore devient plus saignant encore.
