Plutôt que de balancer des démos à toutes les maisons de disques, les Suédois ont mis leur musique en ligne. Rapidement le nombre de titres disponibles s’est développé, de même que leur notoriété puisqu’ils ont atteint les 100.000 téléchargements par mois ! Ils trouvent ainsi le chemin des studios et sortent Deus Ex Machinae, puis écrivent la bande-son du jeu PC « Jets’n’Guns ».
Aujourd’hui ils sortent leur second album, le premier à bénéficier d’une véritable distribution internationale.
Le nom du groupe est assez trompeur puisqu’il ne s’agit aucunement d’Indus. Les Suédois nous proposent un Metal mainstream, dynamique, moderne mais reposant sur des bases assez classiques, riche en mélodies et agrémenté de passages Pop. Ce cocktail pour le moins casse-gueule est ici parfaitement maîtrisé car il est élaboré avec intelligence. Plutôt que de faire table rase de l’héritage du passé, MACHINAE SUPREMACY s’en sert comme ossature, on retrouve ainsi des bases de Heavy et de Hard Rock. Chaque titre est donc construit de façon assez traditionnelle, il est ensuite enrichi d’une grosse dose de mélodies dont certaines sont franchement renversantes (« I Know The Reaper » ou « Ronin », des singles en puissance). Enfin, le groupe appose une touche résolument moderne avec une production très actuelle. Et même les quelques bruitages « façon jeu vidéo », d’habitude indigestes, sont ici parfaitement intégrés.
Avec une telle latitude, pas étonnant que MACHINE SUPREMACY nous offre une certaine diversité : du Power Speed d’« Elite » (d’ailleurs pas très concluant) ou de « Seventeen », on passe vite au Heavy mélodique de la plupart des titres, au Hard Rock de « I Know The Reaper », puis on saute dans le Metal moderne, limite Néo avec « Hate » et « Ghost », et même dans le Hard/Pop avec des sonorités orientales de « Oki Kumas Adventure » qui bénéficie d’un énorme potentiel.
Le point commun de tous ces titres est le mariage réussi d’une énergie qui ne se tarit jamais et de mélodies ultra efficaces. L’ensemble pourra peut-être paraître opportuniste mais il en résulte un album extrêmement rafraîchissant qui peut tourner en boucle.
