Les pays nordiques sont plutôt réputés pour leur Hard Vintage de qualité, leur Powerviolence échevelé, ou leur AOR ciselé.
Mais après tout, sus aux assimilations et généralisations, un suédois n'est pas un norvégien qui n'est lui-même pas un danois.
Danois vous avez dit ? Non, c'est moi, puisque le quatuor de cette fin de matinée en vient, de Copenhague plus précisément.
Alors, en quoi ces jeunes énervés se distinguent-ils de la masse grouillante de combos du nord de l'Europe ? Par le style qu'ils pratiquent, qui d'ordinaire nous est exporté de la perfide Albion, île qui a vu naître le style dans les années 80.
De l'Anarcho-Punk nordique, je prends, histoire de voir à quoi ressemble ce Punk sous haute tension lorsqu'il est pratiqué hors de ses frontières natales.
Mais présentons d'abord ce jeune groupe à l'énergie saine et intense.
Les SNAFU (à ne pas confondre avec les SNFU) se sont visiblement formés il y a peu, ce qui ne les empêche nullement de maîtriser leur petit répertoire, et de le jouer avec une jolie colère en forme de riffs francs et directs et de lignes vocales affirmées.
On retrouve d'ailleurs au poste de vocaliste la jolie mais teigneuse Sorine, qui ne ménage pas ses cordes vocales, et vocifère en intonations délicieusement juvéniles. Le band est en outre constitué de Christian à la batterie, d'Alex à la basse et Baben à la guitare, et cette première démo, si elle ne remettra pas en cause les fondements même de l'Anarcho-Core, apporte sa pierre à l'édifice, avant de vous la jeter en pleine gueule.
Les morceaux sont cours, évidemment, tous sous la barre des trois minutes, mais truffés d'idées, de breaks, et surtout, enrobés dans un son tournoyant assez étrange.
La voix de Sorine est clairement sous mixée, alors même qu'on a parfois du mal à faire la différence entre les lignes de guitares et celles de la basse, ce qui confère à cette démo une atmosphère assez étrange, très distordue, et un peu bancale.
Mais tout ceci ne nuit en aucun cas à la puissance générée, assez Rock N'Roll il faut l'admettre, et les chansons restent accrocheuses en diable.
Que le tempo soit à la limite du Crust et énervé ("Altervin og Voldtaegt"), ou plutôt mid et affirmé ("Kill The Humanrace", au message assez clair), les débats sont clairs et sous contrôle et le quatuor maîtrise son affaire.
L'osmose prend bien, malgré (ou grâce ?) ce son bizarre, et on sent le groupe soudé et en place. Mais quoiqu'il en soit, et quelle que soit votre réaction, leur page Bandcamp vous prévient de suite de leur considération à l'égard de vos griefs éventuels.
Ils s'en cognent, et don't give a fuck. Et ça, c'est péremptoire, mais j'adore.
Ajoutez à ça une pochette splendide à l'ambiance très Tank Girl, et vous obtenez une démo en tout point recommandable, qui permet enfin au Danemark de placer ses pions sur l'échiquier de l'Anarcho-Core et de damer ceux de leurs homologues anglais.
Avec quand même, un feeling très personnel.
Sachez pour conclure que les cinq titres sont tous dignes d'intérêt, même si je concède une préférence perso pour l'ouverture et la conclusion, qui font montre d'une variété d'approche assez prometteuse pour l'avenir.
Grosse basse qui racle les coins, guitare un peu Noisy, et surtout, ce chant si particulier qui vous prend par les burnes tout en vous souriant.
Mais bon, vous le savez, moi, dès que c'est Punk et qu'on trouve une demoiselle derrière le micro, je fonds, surtout si elle chante avec ses tripes.
Alors allez-y, et en plus c'est cadeau. Mais comme c'est proposé en NYP, vous pouvez quand même faire preuve de générosité. C'est toujours apprécié, fête des mères ou pas.
Et ça aussi, je suis persuadé qu'ils s'en cognent.
