Johnny Lima a la particularité de copier sans complexe son compatriote Jon Bon Jovi. La ressemblance s’exerce tant sur les compositions que sur le timbre de voix qui est parfois confondant. Les fans de ce dernier peuvent s’insurger, mais ils auraient tout de même tort de passer à côté de cet album qui, faute d’originalité, contient de bons moments et une qualité générale très satisfaisante qui lui permet d’être écouté à la suite de 7800° Fahrenheit sans trop de complexes.
Il s’agit en fait d’une refonte du premier album sorti en 1996 dans lequel 11 morceaux sur 12 ont été remixés (“Speak Of The Devil” est passé à la trappe) et auquel on a rajouté 2 titres (“Drift Away” et “Fire Of Love”).
Lima sait y faire et il passe tout l’attirail en revue : les refrains imparables sur “Reckless Heart”, “Little Runaway” et “Never Let U Go”, la ballade “Here For You” et la ballade acoustique “Another Lonely Day”.
Malgré l’amélioration sensible du son, on déplorera certains passages faiblards qui font tout de même passer Lima pour un Bon Jovi de supermarché : les claviers super cheap (les “tutututute” sur “Little Runaway”, arghh).
Un agréable moment de Hard FM comme au bon vieux temps. Tout simplement.
