EL-NATH met le feu à l’Hérault depuis quelques temps déjà et voici leur tout nouveau bébé intitulé Isolation. Les 6 enragés œuvrent dans un registre proche de GOJIRA mais aussi de LOFOFORA dans la façon d’asséner un chant déterminé. Ce n’est donc pas vraiment un petit joyau d’originalité mais plutôt un concentré d’efficacité qui, il faut bien le dire, est propice au headbang en règle.
Les compositions sont très bien maîtrisées, elles sont manifestement interprétées par des musiciens expérimentés et compétents. On devine une efficacité évidente sur scène. Les rythmiques sont saccadées et hachées, elles déferlent par vagues, au détriment de la construction harmonique reléguée à un plan secondaire. Les rares passages de chant clair sont vite submergées par les voix Death, mais le mélange est adroit et il rappelle un peu (et parfois) le récent Soma de ETHS.
Même si le son n’est pas parfait, la production est très correcte.
Isolation est donc une bonne surprise, mais le manque de singularité risque de porter préjudice aux ambitions du groupe qui aurait intérêt à tracer sa propre route ; il en a manifestement les capacités.
