Si j'étais amené à mourir demain, j'aimerais que deux chansons se succèdent pour couvrir d'un discrédit mon éloge funèbre : "Through Corridors Of Oppression" de SHINING (en réalité une réinterprétation de la "Marche Funèbre" de Chopin) et "Mammal Sauce". Comme un bon gros doigt d'honneur tiré en total irrespect pour les gens qui auront fait le pénible déplacement, cette deuxième chanson sera ma manière de dire au revoir, comme CROTCHDUSTER a dit jadis au revoir à sa légitimité sur Terre pour s'enterrer aux confins de l'hystérie. Il y a comme ça des albums qu'on aura l'occasion de n'entendre qu'une fois dans sa vie, et Big Fat Box Of Shit fait déjà partie des meubles. En totale roue libre, ce disque est unique. Je dis souvent ça, mais pour une fois, c'est au sens littéral et en plus, je le pense vraiment. Ils auraient voulu le faire exprès qu'ils n'y seraient pas parvenus. Ils, c'est donc CROTCHDUSTER, de bons Floridiens mais de mauvais pères de famille. Et si vous avez la moindre once d'admiration pour le producteur des stars Jason Suecof, démontez votre autel à sa gloire, car c'est bien lui qui performe ici sous le pseudo de Fornicus "Fuckmouth" McFlappy, accompagné de Slippery Jim et de Cain, un batteur en poils et fan d'os. Non, c'est loin d'être une blague, CROTCHDUSTER prétend depuis toujours que son batteur (en réalité un boite à rythmes) est un clébard surdoué. Ambiance.
Je ne peux même pas dire qu'on est en présence du pendant américain de GRONIBARD, car c'est tellement plus absurde (et aussi meilleur techniquement) que ce duo mettrait une pâtée monstrueuse à ces exhibos plus très rigolos. De la pochette aux paroles délicieusement scatophiles, l'extravagance est assumée avant même le démarrage du full-lenght.

Si le vocabulaire est à la portée du premier débile qui a choisi anglais LV1 au collège, la musique quant à elle se limite aux airs de jeux ludiques et colorés d'une maternelle. Rentrer les ronds dans les ronds, les carrés dans les carrés... tout ça est représentatif du niveau métabolique de CROTCHDUSTER. Pour autant, la performance frôle le magistral. Car il faut avoir le string bien accroché et une passion solide pour la merde en boîte pour enchaîner avec autant de vitesse et sans aucune transition des passages Grind, Rap, Death, Pop, Reggae, Heavy, Dance et Country. Sans déconner, on trouve sur les titres les plus courts ("Jogging In Hell Forever" ou "Cain Sings The Blues") pas moins d'une dizaine d'ambiances différentes en quelques 120 secondes, le tout entrecoupé de samples d'un goût plus que douteux, de vannes turbocacaprout et d'opérations mathématiques improbables (bagel + poulet = vagin). Alors je ne vous parle pas de "Mammal Sauce", de "Big Top Williams" et son finish SLAYER-ien, de "Crotchopus" qui accueille un certain John Tardy (OBITUARY) au micro, de "Let Me Into Starfish Land", entre flegme à l'américaine et grosse sodo Black-Evil-Norvegian-Way-Of-Life qui accouche d'une apologie gourmande de l'anulingus sans lavage préalable. Assurément, Big Fat Box Of Shit est d'une nullité profonde, et c'est ce qui le rend si bon. Car contrairement à tant de formations qui jouent la carte du grotesque mais avec une subtilité inadaptée, CROTCHDUSTER revendique sa vulgarité, son humour vaseux, sa perversité. On est vraiment embarqué dans un univers au jusqu'au-boutisme écœurant, une véritable diarrhée musicale chaude qui n'a aucun mérite, si ce n'est celui de déloger bien des balais des culs des bien-pensants. Rien que pour ça, cet opus mérite ce petit hommage.
Dix ans après cette sortie, on ne peut pas dire que la carrière de CROTCHDUSTER fut couronnée de gloire. L'intérêt de Big Fat Box Of Shit est donc strictement limité et strictement assumé. C'est un éclair, une fulgurance, une envie précise et tacite, concrétisée comme il se devait par un artiste qui n'a plus à prouver son professionnalisme. Quant aux pauvres âmes égarées qui mettront le nez dans ce seau d'étrons fumants, ils n'en ressortiront pas indemnes. L'art de la déconne bien faite se confond avec nos pulsions les plus perverses, et l'envie de chopper la dinde dans le frigo à maman pour dégorger dedans au rythme de la fanfare sur "Mr. Indignant Erection" n'est jamais très loin.
Je soupçonne Cain, le batteur-canin, d'être derrière tout ça. Car qui d'autre qu'un chien peut se montrer aussi inhumain ?
