Après Laurent Gerra, Thierry Le Luron et Didier Gustin, voici Johnny Lima. Certes son registre est plus limité mais son imitation de Jon Bon Jovi est renversante. Il parvient à créer 11 titres dans un style absolument identiques à celui de son compatriote. Tout bien réfléchi, la principale différence entre les deux hommes est qu’ils ne sont pas originaires du même état. Bon Jovi étant du New Jersey, Lima a bien fait de clamer sa différence en habitant la Californie !
Empruntant tous les trucs qui on fait le succès du genre, il nous livre un Hard FM très agréable avec ses mélodies séduisantes, ses refrains accrocheurs repris par des chœurs qui feraient pâlir de jalousie DEF LEPPARD. Pour la qualité de l’ensemble, nous sommes encore loin de Hysteria ou de Slippery When Wet mais il est impossible ne pas chantonner les airs de « Welcome To My Paradise » ou de « Made In California » qui n’attendent plus que la matraquage radio. La production est d’une propreté irréprochable comme on pouvait s’y attendre sur ce genre de produit et rien ne vient gâcher notre écoute, Lima connaît les ficèles du métiers, c’est évident. Une reprise de « Help » me ferait presque aimer les BEATLES.
Le titre est particulièrement bien choisi, il résume la bonne humeur de cet album et son orientation « big rock ».
Si vous avez un cabriolet rouge, cet album est fait pour vous.
