Pour qui ne connaîtrait pas BEYOND THE VOID, l'intro de « Her Dive Into Midnight » est trompeuse car on pourrait s'attendre à du Metal Symphonique avec chanteuse. Alors, certes, une vocaliste vient poser ses lignes de chant sur certains morceaux, mais BEYOND THE VOID propose bel et bien du Goth Metal Rock avec chanteur, auquel on rajoutera l'adjectif moderne, si cela peut leur faire plaisir... La musique de la formation est véritablement portée par Daniel Pharos qui n'hésite pas à faire dans le pathos, et le sirupeux le dispute parfois au mielleux. Malgré cette surcharge en effets de manche, tout reste bien calculé et calibré (les interventions féminines arrivent véritablement à point nommé sur « Seductora » dans un esprit pop assumé) : il n'empêche qu'à l'instar de l'abeille, l'auditeur se laisse attirer par ce Gloom Is A Trip For Two au parfum sucré et finit par s'y retrouver piégé, peu importe que la structure des morceaux et les riffs soit de facture classique. Il est par moments difficile de faire le distinguo entre le mélancolique et le langoureux (« Nihilism ») et la tentation peut même poindre de faire la cour à la donzelle sur ces airs mais, étendue sur le lit, il est à craindre que celle-ci, les yeux rivés au plafond, ne finisse par se demander ce qu'elle portera le lendemain... car il vous faudra, Messieurs, faire preuve d'imagination dans la mesure où, entre « Her Dive Into Midnight » et « A Minute Before Dawn », même si, en se référant aux titres, près de six heures se sont écoulées, le tempo varie peu. Pour autant, c'est un fait : Gloom Is A Trip For Two donne furieusement envie d'être à deux pour le partager.
