Petit topo sur Misery Index pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas encore ce combo. Il faut tout d'abord savoir que Misery Index est le nouveau projet de 3 ex-membres fondateurs de Dying Fetus. De toute façon, Misery Index est promis à un bel avenir et pour s'en convaincre, il suffit de regarder le nom des groupes dans lesquels ils ont joué (Dying Fetus, M.O.D, Suffocation, Pessimist, Sadistic Torment, Fear of God et j'en passe...).
"Overthrow" est un EP assez fourni car il comporte 4 compos originales de Misery Index, 1 reprise de Terrorizer "Dead Shall Rize", 3 Live et en bonus 2 vidéos sur lesquelles je ne ferai pas de commentaires car je ne disposais pas de quicktime 5 sous la souris...
Quant au style pratiqué, il est sans surprises car il s'agit d'un Death/Grind bien brutal classique typique des années 90 mais avec toutefois une certaine modernité notamment dans les breaks et vocaux. Le point fort est sans conteste le batteur qui est excellent de technique et de puissance, il est tout simplement épileptique derrière ses fûts le garçon !
La production est bonne, même pour les live (enregistrés dans une radio, c'est certainement pour ça...).
Pour ce nouveau projet, il est donc à soutenir comme tous les groupes auxquels ils ont participés...
