Il est étonnant de constater à quel point MOTLEY CRUE est parvenu à tirer son épingle du jeu puisque, en dépit des passages à vide, le groupe est parvenu à se maintenir dans les cimes du succès et est l’un des rares survivants de la vague Glam des 80’s. La tournée Carnival Of Sins a rencontré un énorme succès qui a, de nouveau, propulsé MOTLEY CRUE sur le devant de la scène. L’écoute de ce live fourni la clé de cette survie : l’énergie qui se dégage de chaque titre est ahurissante. Il est bien difficile de rester insensible à ce Rock décadent et survitaminé.
Côté setlist, pas moyen de faire le moindre reproche puisque MOTLEY CRUE nous balance au visage la quasi totalité de ses armes de destruction massive. On n’évitera pas les sempiternelles discussions “j’aurai préféré entendre tel titre plutôt que tel autre”, mais chacun sera rassasié par ces 23 bombes. En revanche, on pourra s’étonner de l’enchaînement de 3 ballades (“Glitter”, “Without You” et “Home Sweet Home”) qui casse sérieusement le rythme.
On notera la présence de 2 titres récents : “Sick Love Song” et “If I Die Tomorrow”.
La production est plutôt bonne même si des faiblesses restent audibles. Le groupe a privilégié le son live à la propreté de la post-prod studio.
