Que donnent un bon chanteur, un bon guitariste, un bon bassiste, un bon batteur et un bon clavier ? Et bien un bon album ! Bien sûr, les membres de ce groupe de Metal Mélodique sont loin de nous être inconnus puisque Jorn Lande appartenait précédemment à Ark, Roland Grapow et Uli Kusch à Helloween. Trois grandes figures de la scène Metal sont donc au commande de cet ovni en route vers les étoiles. Ce n’est pas une garantie de succès, me direz-vous, mais il est clair que l’alchimie se fait parfaitement pour Masterplan, ce second opus en est la preuve flagrante.
Aeronautics est un de ces albums qui vous donnent la pêche pour la journée. C’est une succession de titres assez courts (4 à 5 minutes) plus entraînants les uns que les autres, à la limite du Hard FM. Richesse des atmosphères, mélodies puissantes, guitares lourdes et vocaux pleins d’émotion sont les principaux atouts de cet album ; « Back For My Life », nuancée, mid-tempo, en est le parfait exemple. Les quelques touches progressives apportées par l’excellent travail du chanteur viennent compléter cet album cohérent et prometteur.
Aeronautics s’ouvre sur un très agressif « Crimson Rider » et la machine démarre à toute vapeur ! Voilà un très bon titre à la mélodie de guitare vraiment accrocheuse. Citons aussi la très belle « Falling Sparrow », légère et rapide, aux lignes de chant particulièrement réussies, l’oppressante « Headbangers Ballroom » ou l’épique « Black In The Burn », un morceau de 9 minutes 30 aux très bons soli de guitare qui clôture l’album.
Ecoutez un de ces titres et vous serez forcément tentés d’acheter cet album dont le thème central est la fascination de voler. Embarquement immédiat. Bienvenue à bord !
