Formé il y a plus de 10 ans, le bouffon fou (mad jester) est originaire de la région de Saint-Etienne. Après de nombreux changements de line-up, le groupe fait son retour.
MADJESTER fait partie de ces groupes qui, sous prétexte de livrer une simple démo, nous offre des conditions de production plutôt pénibles. On devine que leurs moyens sont limités, mais de nos jours on peut faire des miracles avec un PC ! Hélas, le groupe boude le modernisme et cela s’en ressent également sur sa musique tournée vers le passé avec ce Hard/Heavy assez plat. Il n’y a pas de quoi crier au scandale, mais on cherche en vain un intérêt à ces 5 titres qui accumulent les banalités sans offrir grand chose en contrepartie.
Le chant n’est pas désagréable mais il connaît vite des limites lorsqu’il pousse un peu dans l’agressivité ou lorsque les refrains se font à l’unisson. La guitare est sans reproche, mais la batterie a un son insupportable (l’interprétation n’est pas en cause).
Ça peut être sympa pour la fête de la musique. Sinon, je ne vois pas...
