Luna Field, groupe allemand fraichement formé sort un premier album mi-figue mi-raison dans un style qui se cherche encore un peu.
En effet, Luna Field n'est pas un groupe de Death/Black comme on l'entend, c'est à dire qui mélange les deux styles mais plutôt qui alterne les styles suivant les morceaux et qui, parfois, réunit les deux dans un morceau par alternance de style (vous suivez ?).
Pour résumer, Luna Field essaye de réunir l’agressivité et la forte énergie du Death Metal avec les atmosphères et la puissance propres au Black Metal. Pas facile de concilier ces deux points quelques peu contradictoires et opposés mais une fois que la mayonaise aura pris, je pense que cela devrait donner naissance à un combo efficace et cet album est un avant goût de leur savoir faire.
"Close To Prime" regorge de riffs intéressants, de mélodies mélancoliques (parfois trop longues et dispensables), de changements de tempo, d'atmosphères en tous genres, des vocaux tantôt bien profonds du côté Death et tantôt hurlés façon Black, en somme un album inspiré.
Le point fort de cet album et qui le sert bien est la production qui est tout bonnement énorme.
En conclusion je dirai que "Close To Prime" est potentiellement bon mais demandera un effort supplémentaire pour parvenir à leur but stylistique à la croisée du Death et du Black. Le rendez-vous est donc pris avec leur deuxième opus pour mesurer toute l'efficacité de ce combo, qui j'en suis presque certain sera l'album de la consécration.
