VENTURIA arrive en septembre 2008 avec son deuxième album. Mais qui est donc VENTURIA ? C’est un groupe de Metal Progressif formé en 2000 par le guitariste Charly Sahona et le batteur Diego Rapacchietti. Du coup, on s’attend à une mise en avant de ces deux instruments pour faire de la bonne démonstration de technique bien de chez nous. Et c’est déjà un premier point fort de ces deux musiciens, cette volonté de faire passer la musique et le groupe avant tout. Parce que, même si on a bien entendu une grande technique dans la musique - et cela concerne tous les musiciens - on est loin de démonstrations futiles et sans réel but. Ensuite, une autre particularité du groupe est cette double voix. Marc Ferreira et Lydie Robin se partagent le micro dans une véritable fusion. Leurs voix se marient à la perfection et aucun des deux ne cherchent à prendre le dessus. « Why This Women’S Life? » est même un titre où seule Lydie chante, mais quel émotion dans ce titre ! On peut ainsi profiter pleinement de son grand registre vocal. Sinon, comment qualifier la musique de VENTURIA ? C’est du Metal Progressif, mais qui mélange aussi des éléments Pop ou FM, mais pas avec le sens négatif que l’on peut y associer. Cela donne un côté plus aisé dans l’écoute, avec des refrains mémorables comme celui de « Love Gamers », sans pour autant devenir niais. Mais le groupe fait avant tout du Metal Progressif, comme en témoigne « Sublimated Dementia », un titre 200% Progressif. En effet, on change de rythme, de tempo, d’ambiance aussi rapidement qu’on est capable de dire des conneries dans la journée. C’est un titre pourtant accessible dans sa globalité mais qui demande un effort pour en intégrer les différentes sous parties, nombreuses. On peut noter aussi de bonnes rythmiques, comme l’introduction de « Running Blind », où Charly Sahona s’en donne à cœur joie. D’ailleurs, le groupe ne se contente jamais de « simples » shreds, même s’il y en a. On a aussi des passages rythmiques très techniques, où on constate toute la virtuosité de Diego Rapacchietti à la double grosse caisse. Mais pas seulement, son jeu de tomes et de cymbales est aussi tout en nuances.
J’avoue que j’ai été bien bluffé par VENTURIA, que je ne connaissais pas. Etre capable de rendre une musique souvent élitiste aussi accessible est preuve d’un grand talent. Et de dois bien admettre que plus j’écoute l’album plus je l’apprécie tellement les nouvelles choses à découvrir à chaque fois sont nombreuses.
