SUICIDAL WINDS est un groupe suédois sans histoire particulière. Il a sorti 3 albums en douze ans dont les deux premiers via le biais du Label Cult Allemand : No Colours Records. Ce groupe n’est donc pas très productif ce qui en fait un quasi inconnu de la scène Metal extrême. Vu la notoriété des suédois, je ne pense pas que ce soit judicieux de sortir un album live (accompagnée d’une reprise studio de KREATOR en bonus : « Total Death »). Cela peut paraître étonnant car ce genre d’initiative est souvent réservé aux groupes ayant déjà une certaine renommée.
Pourtant on a le droit à un concert sans fioritures : bourrin avec du blast, de l'agressivité… aucune intro inutile ou de parties plus lentes ou mid-tempo, les riffs s’enchaînent sans temps morts. Seul le public est mort sur ce Live : on ne l’entend pas ! Il faut dire que le set a été enregistré au Festung Open Air en Allemagne, et il est bien connu que lors des festivals, il est difficile de faire bouger l’auditoire lorsque l’on est un groupe très peu connu.
Il faut dire que le black/thrash de SUICIDAL WINDS est ultra basique et sans aucune once d'originalité, mais il est bien énergique. Le tout est du déjà-vu et déjà-entendu 100 fois. Les morceaux ne sont pas mauvais mais ne révolutionnent rien. Ce n’est pas le cas du chanteur, car lui il veut tout défoncer sur ce Live : il a la voix qu’aurait eu un pack de Kro s’il pouvait roter !!! Une enquête a également été ouverte en vue de déterminer s’il n’était pas directement branché sur le secteur.
Enfin bref, SUICIDAL WINDS est tout simplement un groupe de Metal extrême comme il en existe des milliers. Un groupe qui propose un concert de Black/Thrash honnête, fait avec passion mais sans originalité.
