ARCANES DIVISION a décidé de se démarquer des clichés, de s’affranchir des voies toutes tracées pour créer son propre style. Un style complexe, torturé, hybride. Il s’agit là de l’émergence d’une nouvelle génération de groupes de Metal, ambitieux et dénués de complexe.
On y trouve beaucoup de dissonances faisant souvent pencher l’album du côté du jazz dont le groupe emprunte de nombreux gimmicks. Cette influence marquante constituera bien évidemment un handicap certain pour l’auditeur allergique à toute autre forme de musique que le Metal. Le chant est doublement mixte : masculin et féminin (Elodie et Alejandro), clair et guttural. Les lignes de chant clair s’entrecroisent habilement et dansent dans nos oreilles. Le groupe verse aussi largement dans le Hardcore avec un chant furieux soutenu par une rythmique endiablée.
Malgré quelques faiblesses, la production maison est plutôt correcte ce qui est une bonne chose compte tenu du style casse-gueule pratiqué. Seule la batterie pâti d’un son médiocre sur les parties violentes.
ARCANES DIVISION a manifestement le don de transporter l’auditeur dans son monde étrange (on dirait un film de Jeunet/Caro en musique), le tout est d’y adhérer.
