Difficile de croire qu’il s’agisse de leur premier album (qui plus est auto-produit) tant les arrangements sont bons les compositions matures. En outre, le groupe s’est fendu de 10 titres sans que la qualité faiblisse.
AMBRYO s’engouffre avec talent dans la brèche du Metal Hardcore à la française, avec un groove évident. A ce propos, la basse joue un rôle à part entière et contribue à façonner la structure de chaque titre. L’alternance continuelle de chant clair et de chant guttural accentue l’impression de folie qui ressort d’une telle écoute. C’est très à la mode et, avouons-le, c’est vachement bien fait. Le problème est que cela reste relativement difficile à suivre et qu’il est donc assez ardu de se laisser porter par des morceaux souvent constitués de 4 ou 5 (ou plus) structures mélodiques différentes, par des cassures de rythme incessantes et par une abondance de breaks.
Quoi qu’il en soit, AMBRYO vient de livrer un premier album prometteur. Il faudra suivre ce groupe de près.
