Babe (le cochon), lorsqu'il quitta sa ferme pour la ville, n'avait pas de projet bien défini en tête. Puis, au hasard d'une rencontre, un homme lui remit une invitation gratuite pour assister à un concert réunissant CANNIBAL CORPSE et SUFFOCATION. Il craignait un peu pour ses oreilles et sa queue mais il s'y rendit tout de même et bien lui en prît car il eut une révélation : lui aussi jouerait du Brutal Death, technique tant qu'à faire. Bien sûr, il savait qu'avec sa tête de porc, il aurait plus de mal à percer et, après avoir découvert MAYHEM, il sut qu'en partageant l'affiche avec ces détraqués, il risquait aussi de se la faire couper (la tête). Babe décida donc de rester dans l'underground. C'est alors qu'il rencontra DEFEATED SANITY et qu'il se décida à se joindre à eux sous son nouveau nom : Jens Staschel. Bien entendu, la vérité est un peu tronquée (je ne sais même pas quelle tête il a ce charmant Jens) mais elle donne une bonne image de la musique jouée par les Allemands et surtout du chant qui accompagne ces neuf compos. Dire que Psalms Of The Moribund est technique ne signifie pas que la musique soit subtile : ces neufs titres de Brutal Death/Grind vous déboulent dans la tronche sans sommation, malgré des ruptures de rythmes nombreuses (« Hideously Disembodied » : comme quoi on peut être boucher et poète). On se croirait dans une porcherie surexcitée par l'odeur du sang. Mais il n'empêche que l'auditeur à l'écoute de ses instincts primaires devrait prendre son pied (du cochon : je fais de la pub pour aider au financement de l'hébergement du site) à l'écoute de ce Psalms Of The Moribund. Une écoute qu'il conviendrait toutefois de ne pas renouveler de manière incessante car elle a tout de même une vertu abrutissante et après ça, on comprend comme le petit Thomas Hewitt a pu devenir le grand méchant Leatherface.
