Malgré les nombreuses tentatives pour reformer son groupe, Mike Tramp n’a jamais pu convaincre Vito Bratta de repartir à l’aventure. C’est donc une version édulcorée de WHITE LION qui est présentée ici, avec de parfaits inconnus venant des quatre coins du monde pour l’entourer. En guise d’avertissement, le groupe s’appelle TRAMP’S WHITE LION.
Ce premier live, enregistré en Février et Mars 2005, aurait pu (et aurait dû) être un événement marquant, s’il n’était pas dépourvu d’âme. Le chant manque cruellement de conviction, le guitariste possède le niveau technique pour interpréter les compositions de son prédécesseur mais la magie et le feeling sont absents, et enfin, la production fait complètement l’impasse sur le public qui n’intervient qu’entre les pistes !
Tout commence avec ce “Lights And Thunder” amputé de son solo d’intro, puis cela se poursuit avec un enchaînement de trois balades propices à éteindre les ardeurs les plus fougueuses, et cela se termine par un “Radar Love” long de 12 interminables minutes.
Cet album n’est pas mauvais car il contient tous les grands hits de WHITE LION, et il est impossible, dans ces conditions, de ne pas passer un bon moment. Mais il tourne au ralenti et est incontestablement inférieur à ce qu’il aurait été à la grande époque et avec le line-up originel. C’est donc une torture d’entendre toutes ces bonnes chansons, interprétées en sous-régime par un Mike Tramp blasé accompagné de second couteaux.
