Conglomérats internationaux, totalitarisme, fanatisme, armes de destruction massive, manipulations génétiques... Tel est l'univers de science-fiction (quoique...) que nous dépeint THY DISEASE, annonçant la fin de l'Homme et le début du règne des rats. Le style des Polonais se situe entre un FEAR FACTORY et THE AMENTA, même si l'aspect électro l'emporte sur l'industriel, allant parfois jusqu'à rappeler la BO de Spawn et l'alliance à laquelle elle avait donné lieu entre groupes de Metal et DJ Techno (« Rat Age », « Unity »). Force est de constater que le résultat est à la hauteur du concept, grâce à une section rythmique écrasante (« Earth Will Shake... », « Syndicate ») et une production solide, deux pré-requis indispensables en matière de Cyber Death. Les claviers et samples s'intègrent en outre parfaitement à l'ensemble, chaque instrument trouvant sa place sans empiéter sur l'autre, avec comme en premier plan, guitare, basse, batterie et vocaux et, en toile de fond, les synthés qui dressent le décor d'un monde déshumanisé, au bord de l'Apocalypse, dont Pyscho (chant) et ses sbires sont les conteurs. Paradoxalement, ce sont ces mêmes claviers qui, ici ou là, parviennent à véhiculer des émotions : « Life Form », « Fire Storm », « Introduction Part.2 » (étrangement planant alors que le cataclysme nucléaire est proche, comme si THY DISEASE n'était pas décidé à verser de larmes sur une humanité en voie d'autodestruction). Avec ce Rat Age (Sworn Kinds Final Verses), THY DISEASE offre ses lettres de noblesse à un genre qui n'a pas encore dévoilé tout son potentiel. A noter que cet album, même s'il ne nous parvient qu'aujourd'hui, est paru en 2006 et que le groupe est actuellement en phase de post-production de la suite de Rat Age, qui s'intitulera Anshur-Za.
