Amateurs de flûte, de Metal folklorique, de fêtes champêtres avec nos amis les elfes, réjouissez-vous, THUATA DE DANANN est de retour et n’a pas abandonné son goût pour le Folk Metal.
On retrouve le savoir-faire incontestable de Bruno Maia - le plus celte des Brésiliens - multi-instrumentiste de talent et leader du groupe qui nous livre ici 10 titres (plus 2 courts interludes instrumentaux) de ce mélange adroit entre les gros riffs du Metal et la tradition celtique avec ses instruments d’origine.
On notera toutefois une influence plus nette qu’auparavant pour le Rock des 70’s ou le Hard Rock des 80’s. Ainsi, certains sons de guitares sont clairement orientés vers cette époque.
La grande caractéristique de THUATA DE DANANN est bien sûr la variété des styles (on avait deviné une nette ouverture d’esprit !) qui nous mène du gros Heavy Metal au Folk traditionnel en se jouant des convenances. On est aussi balancé entre un chant féminin doux et mélodieux, un chant masculin plus viril ou carrément agressif, et pourtant l’ensemble ne perd jamais son homogénéité car on peut considérer qu’il symbolise les différentes personnalités d’une même culture : les combats, la fête, les prières,...
Il y aura toujours des réfractaires à cette musique composite et typée, c’est compréhensible, mais si un tel mélange vous tente, sachez que THUATA DE DANANN figure clairement parmi les meilleurs groupes du genre, aux côtés de MAGO DE OZ ou de FINNTROLL, bien loin des MORGENSTERN d’opérette.
