Débutant leur jeune carrière en 1997 sous le pseudonyme d’Ysyssy, le groupe devient officiellement Grazed deux ans plus tard.
N’ayant pas été gâté par le sort en raison de bouleversements incessants de line-up et à des problèmes qui ont logiquement entravé la bonne marche du combo gardois, le trio, qui fort d’avoir déjà en son bagage un album paru en 2000 « Every End », nous revient avec cette fois-ci un EP de six titres de Thrash/Death énergique et implacable, même si, à mon sens, les riffs de guitares virent parfois dans le Grind, avec ce son bien crade, gras et étouffé.
Ajoutons que la production de l’EP se révèle moyenne avec une batterie sonnant parfois comme une poubelle (ils ont fait suivant les moyens du bord !), mais à part cela et en dépit de toutes les difficultés que le groupe a traversées, ces écorchés vifs s’en sortent plutôt pas mal !
D’ailleurs, on sent de la construction et de la recherche dans les compositions, si bien que chacun des titres s’avère être catchy et pétris de fureur !
Un petit bémol tout de même concernant la dernière piste, avec ce « We’re All Grazed » version slow qui aurait pu nous être épargné, le morceau étant carrément en deçà et en décalage de l’ensemble de l’album.
En dehors de cela, Grazed démontre avoir de sérieuses facultés pour nous délivrer de bons morceaux de Thrash/Death efficaces ! Affaire à suivre et cette fois-ci sans pépins…
