Le changement de chanteur était certainement un coup dur pour ce jeune groupe. D’abord, un changement de line-up après une seul album c’est difficile à digérer, ensuite et surtout le chant de Robert Soeterboek s’apparentait à celui de David Coverdale ce qui n’était pas négligeable. Le premier album avait donc un air de WHITESNAKE qui le rendait intéressant et qui incitait le fan de Hard Rock à suivre l’évolution du combo allemand.
Avec le nouveau chanteur, Fernando Garcia, tout change et pourtant il est impossible d’être déçu tant cet album recèle de qualités. D’abord ce groupe a la pêche et affiche une bonne humeur vite communicative. Ils n’ont pas peur d’égratigner leurs mélodies avec des riffs dont la puissance peut même surprendre. Comme sur “My Own Miser” et avec l’intro de “Shining Light” où l’on se demande si l’on ne s’est pas trompé d’album ! Heureusement les refrains et les chœurs sont la pour nous réconforter.
Si le parallèle avec WHITESNAKE était inévitable sur l’opus précédent, on peut évoquer ici TESLA (“Kiss It Away”). Le chant et les morceaux s’en rapprochent. Certains pourront même trouver cet album plus intéressant que le récent Into The Now.
C’est incontestablement sur les mid-tempo que le groupe est le plus à l’aise et il signe ici quelques titres qui valent vraiment le détour : “The One You Love Ain’t Me”, “Exceptional”, “Your Beat Inside My Head”.
