Après les 5 titres prometteurs de Sors La Tête, PSYKUP poursuit sa lancée avec Le Temps De La Réflexion.
Ces gars là sont réputés pour être des furieux en concert, penchons-nous donc sur ce skeud pour voir si leur musique est à la hauteur des dires. Tout commence avec une étrange mélodie, intrigante, presque malsaine, qui donne immédiatement un ton baroque. Enchaînement brutal sur "Or Not To Be", laissant place aux riffs tranchants et aux voix hurlées particulièrement jouissives de Milka (chant uniquement) et Ju (chant + guitare). Puis, nouvelle surprise avec un blocage qui cèdera cette fois à la mélodie et aux douces voix, mais c’est sans attendre que l’on retombe sur du gros son, le tout finement imbriqué. Une alternance qui rythmera le morceau du début à la fin et qui finalement, vous pouvez me croire, est d’une efficacité redoutable.
Il y aurait tant à dire sur chaque titre de l’album, tous d’une incroyable richesse… On retiendra surtout « Libido » avec son final étourdissant, la beauté de la voix soprano mêlée à l’agressivité pure nous donnera des frissons à chaque écoute… Mais également « L’Autruche » et ses 14 minutes, regroupant de nombreux styles divers et variés, allant du Hardcore à la Funk en passant par le Flamenco, le tout pour former une purée luxueuse guidée par l’ouverture d’esprit et l’humour, sans jamais sombrer dans le ridicule. Martin X pour ses paroles engagées bien ficelées, ou encore « Rebirth And Recession » qui termine magnifiquement ce CD, petit bijou d’inventivité.
Une belle surprise en somme - et Française qui plus est - à consommer sans modération !
