Il faut quasiment braver les deux minutes offertes par l’intro de William T. Stromberg « Trinity & Beyond » pour entendre le premier riff Pagan Black du titre « As Jusu Prakeikimas » proposé par ce triumvirat lituanien. Le trio de DISSIMULATION a choisi ainsi le Black Thrash pour exprimer ses doléances.
Existant depuis 1993, les baltes n’en sont qu’à leur deuxième album, Prakeikimas, successeur de Maras sorti voilà trois ans.
L’assise rythmique Thrash est évidente, Lituaniens y apportent des riffs et des ambiances inhérentes au Black conférant ainsi à des morceaux comme « Suteikim Jiems Kancia » ou « Omega Et Alpha » un dynamisme et une férocité affirmés.
La production de Ledo Takas vient en plus embellir des compositions puissantes dans tous les compartiments de jeu et de technicité. Fort de ses dix ans d’expérience à écumer le pays en concerts, le groupe balte tire son inspiration du Thrash des années 80, tels que DESTRUCTION, KREATOR en y apportant une touche Black semblable à des formations telles que CARPATHIAN FOREST ou bien AURA NOIR, tout en maintenant son propre style.
A noter que le titre « Karo Ugnys/I Dausas », se divise en deux parties, une première partie des plus classique suivie d’un épilogue Ambient glaçant et agonisant clôt cet opus de bien belle manière, même si la fin frise le remplissage sonore.
Malgré le fait que les morceaux soient assez longs et étirés du coup, on est de plus étonné par le si peu de titres présents, surtout pour un album. Nullement pénalisant car le combo propose des compositions de valeur, ce qui atténue le sentiment d’inachevé.
N’en déplaise, ce second album de DISSIMULATION n’en reste pas moins une bonne pioche.
En espérant que le groupe parvienne enfin à s’exposer sur la scène internationale et ne reste pas dissimuler ad vitam eternam dans les profondeurs des forêts baltes !
