Après 15 années d'existence et de ferveur carnassière, AVULSED nous sert sa cinquième offrande encore bien saignante "Gorespattered Suicide". Avec des visuels (souvent censurés) et des concepts gore, il n'y a qu'un pas pour faire le parallèle avec Cannibal Corpse de part cet album sous fond de suicide et dont le titre est proche d'un opus bien connu des mangeurs de cadavres d'outre atlantique.
Alors pour se différencier un temps soit peu, Dave Rotten et sa troupe de bouchers se veulent 100 pourcent authentique dans leur son, sans modifications et autres artifices des joies du studio comme l'overdub, triggs ou autres effets sur la voix. Chaque album du groupe pousse cette démarche un peu plus loin en nous proposant donc des albums de plus en plus aboutis aussi bien dans leur image que dans leur son et "Gorespattered Suicide" ne vient que confirmer cette règle.
Tout en restant brutal, "Gorespattered Suicide" se diversifie en incorporant par ci par là quelques nappes de claviers en intro et ose même en faire un titre complet en instrumental "Hoax Therapy", quelques chorus de guitares classiques andalouses, quelques passages grind plus un titre de 17 secondes "Infernal Haemorrhoids" et aussi une dispensable reprise de Motörhead (Ace Of Spades). Sinon, à part ça, c'est quasi comme d'habitude, des riffs de guitares recherchés et incisifs, quelques solos bien placés, une batterie détonante, une voix d'outre tombe et surpuissante et le tout mixé par môsieur Erik Rutan, himself.
Tans pis si pour certains ce type de Death fait trop cliché, et alors, c'est bon et bien fait point barre, prend le plaisir là où il est, évite toi de te poser trop de questions. AVULSED fait partie des grands du Death à imagerie Gore. Que l'hémoglobine coule à flot mes agneaux !
