Il est difficile de rester sérieux en découvrant la pochette de cette démo sympathique qui va de pair avec la photo de dos (dans tous les sens du terme !) du boîtier. Manifestement, notre ami Cloux ne se prend pas pour une star. C’est louable mais c’est peut-être également le reproche qu’on peut lui faire : voilà un garçon qui a un talent évident et qui fait preuve d’une précision d’interprétation insolente, mais qui nous sert le sempiternel prétexte de la franche rigolade pour justifier son anonymat et ignorer toute chance d’en sortir. C’est un peu facile, et il est dommage que le garçon ne prenne pas le taureau par les cornes car, pendant ce temps, d’autres artistes compensent leur absence de talent par une motivation sans borne et nous pondent des albums mauvais à chier debout !
Cloux fait partie de ces guitaristes barrés que la technique n’effraie pas et dont la musique très saccadée n’est pas aisément accessible au grand public. Il est difficile de le comparer à un autre guitariste, ce qui est un compliment énorme vu que la plupart des solistes ne peuvent s’affranchir des influences de Malmsteen/Satriani… Alors disons, pour faire simple, qu’on est dans le registre de Ron Thal, Vai (période Fle-able) ou Eklundh, mais c’est très réducteur.
Souhaitons lui de passer à la vitesse supérieur en abandonnant les “concours de rots” au profit de titres affirmés. Il serait dommage que Cloux soit le dernier à croire en lui !
