Sur ce deuxième album, judicieusement intitulé Opus dementiae, les fous furieux italiens d’Ensoph se plaisent à brouiller les pistes et le résultat est assez indéfinissable et hétéroclite, puisque s’y côtoient Black Metal, de par le chant et les guitares, Gothique de par les textes et l’ambiance, mais surtout Metal futuriste, industriel et avant-gardiste de par les claviers et samples très en avant. Le côté folklorique n’est pas non plus négligeable puisque la flûte n’est pas utilisée comme simple ornement mais bien comme un instrument à par entière. Les vocaux sont de multiples natures (chants Black, clair, chuchoté, hystérique, féminin…) et contribuent à faire voyager l’auditeur dans l’univers dément et torturé d’Ensoph. Malgré la complexité des titres qui paraissent très chaotiques et inaccessibles à la première écoute, les morceaux sont suffisamment cohérents et accrocheurs pour ne pas rebuter les oreilles les moins habituées à un style aussi atypique. De par sa grande originalité et sa richesse musicale, cet album est à conseiller à tous les curieux et amateurs de Metal peu conventionnel. A noter en bonus un remix sympa de « Sophia’s fall » par Bruno Kramm de Das Ich, qui n’apporte cependant rien de très intéressant par rapport au morceau original.
