Comme le dit si bien le proverbe : l’habit ne fait pas le moine. En effet, quand on voit des photos des membres de MOLOTOV SOLUTION, on se dit qu’on va se payer une galette de truc à frange (si, la musique aussi à une coupe !) voire pire, de l’Emo dégoulinant. Eh bien non ! MOLOTOV SOLUTION m’a fait le même effet que quand j’ai vu HELMET en première partie de je ne sais plus quel groupe au Zénith : ils arrivaient avec des shorts ultra repassés, des petites coupes à faire pleurer d’envie la ligue des beaux gosses et dés les premières notes assénées, ma cage thoracique a failli se faire la malle tellement le son était énorme, la basse à fond et les riffs destructeurs. Donc, ne vous fiez surtout pas aux gueules de Kyle, Matt, Abe, Cassidy et Robbie, ces mecs vont vous faire passer plus de quarante minutes de pure folie destructrice.
« Warlods » entame les hostilités avec un riff très rapide, qui ne sera pourtant pas beaucoup repris par la suite ; les mecs ont de la technique mais ne l’étalent pas à tout va. C’est plus du côté de la rythmique chiadée qu’il va falloir regarder. Bien entendu, on a une grosse caisse qui suit méchamment les lignes de guitare, pour notre plus grand plaisir. Le chant oscille entre bon gros Death à tendance actuelle et du Hardcore couillu. Les deux sont bien dosés… bon choix. Le groupe produit un DeathCore qui respecte bien les canons du genre, tout en y incorporant des touches inspirées qui font que le groupe ne s’enlise pas dans ce que tous les autres groupes font. Ainsi, « Rule By Secrecy » est très pesant, avec une guitare bien grasse. Mais « Corpus Imperium » démontre que MOLOTOV SOLUTION sait assurer un tempo élevé. « The Dawn Of Ascendency », qui clôt l’album, est plus lent, plus mélodique, sans jamais toutefois perdre le mordant des autres morceaux. « Enslaved » et « Awakening », même s’ils sont de bons morceaux, semblent, au regard du reste, la partie la plus faible de l’album.
MOLOTOV SOLUTION, avec ce deuxième album, fait preuve d’une réelle capacité à captiver d’une main tout en claquant la gueule de l’autre. A la fois accessible et inventif, cet album mérite vraiment qu’on s’y attarde un bon moment.
