Old School. Comment mieux nommer sa démo quand, comme DEADLYSINS, on se retrouve à mijoter aux petits oignons des morceaux que les grands noms de l’âge d’or du Thrash eux-mêmes n’auraient pas reniés ? Après, ce genre de nom peut rapidement vous enfermer dans un carcan classifiant limité, mais DEADLYSINS semble, du moins pour l’instant, complètement l’assumer. Ils nous livrent donc cinq brûlots rapide, énergique et brutaux qui ne vont pas faire plaisir aux ostéopathes de l’hexagone. Comment ne pas headbanger comme un furieux sur des riffs comme celui de « Cannibal Holocaust » ou « DEPC » ? C’est sûr, il faut avoir la forme pour les suivre, mais c’est vraiment du tout bon. Attention, ce n’est pas de la vitesse et de la brutalité juste pour se faire plaisir. Non, le groupe sait comment attirer l’attention par des riffs inspirés, quoi que très influencés, et sait aussi ajouter le dose nécessaire de mélodie, comme « Dreaming Soul » le prouve. Chaque morceau apporte sa pierre à cette trop courte démo. Mais on sent que les cinq gars en ont encore sous le pied pour la prochaine fois, que l’on espère pas trop éloignée dans le temps. Au niveau du chant, ça lorgne plus vers un Black burné pour apporter une touche de modernité que peu rejetteront. Quoi que l’intro de « Brainstorm » nous fasse nous poser la question si on n’est pas en train d’émasculer Mat, le chanteur.
Même si cette démo passe plus vite qu’un lendemain de biture pour fêter la première communion de notre petit cousin issu de Germaine, on ne peut qu’attendre maintenant que le groupe nous sorte un album digne de ce nom, avec quantité de morceaux aussi bons que ceux-là. En tous cas, si vous pouvez, allez les voir en concert, ça doit vraiment être quelque chose.
