Le 24 Juillet prochain, quand vous serez sagement en train de cramer au soleil, siroter un soda bien frais et mater les seins nus des femmes bronzées sur les plages d’Atlantique, regardez bien au loin, vers le large, si l’horizon ne s’obscurcit pas soudainement, la faute au pavillon noir de SWASHBUCKLE.
Qu’on se le dise, l’Amiral Nobeard (basse, éructations), le Commandant RedRum (guitares) et le capitaine Crashride (batterie) ont embarqué sur leur terrifiant navire pirate, avec la bénédiction de ce taré de Ron Thal, guitariste de GUNS N’ROSES à ses heures perdues, qui a produit le deuxième méfait de nos trois borgnes sanguinaires, Back To The Noose. Si la plupart des petits loups de mer ne jurent aujourd’hui que par Jack Sparrow, le plus poète et marginal des pirates, du côté de SWASHBUCKLE on adule plutôt le maudit Capitaine Barbossa !
De tous les pirates qui sillonnent les mers, ces trois là abusent encore et encore de leurs passe-temps favoris : pillages, batailles, trahisons, fêtes interminables à grands coups de Rhum dans le gosier, le tout sur fond de Death qui flirte parfois avec le Punk et qui emprunte volontiers au Thrash des premiers ANTHRAX, EXODUS et même S.O.D. (« Scurvy Back », « Cruise Ship Terror », « Back To The Noose »). Et pour ne pas se lasser, car un pirate impatient s’énerve très vite, surtout quand le Rhum a fini de l’achever, chaque titre ne dure pas plus de 3 minutes, le temps de matraquer les fûts, d’envoyer 1000 allers-retours au médiator et de beugler à faire fuir un cachalot. Adepte du dicton « plus c’est court plus c’est bon », SWASHBUCKLE fout même le bordel en à peine moins d’une minute (« Attack », « Whirlpit », « We Sunk Our Battleship »).
Tout pirate qui se respecte aime parfois se ressourcer, lorsque les guitares sèches solitaires se font hispanisantes, reposantes et étonnamment inspirées. Evidemment le Commandant RedRum n’arrive pas à la cheville d’un Paco De Lucia mais on a affaire ici aux interludes d’un pirate assoiffé de sang et de Rhum, ce qui est donc suffisamment frais et inédit pour être signalé.
Et bien vite, le Thrash Death de SWASHBUCKLE reprend ses droits, à fond la caisse et sans aucune nuance ni finesse, mais après tout ce n’est pas ce qu’on demande à l’orchestre personnel du Capitaine Barbossa (à moins que ce soit Crochet ?!!!).
La B.O. idéale pour se bourrer la gueule, headbanguer comme des fous et finir la soirée en baston.
