Difficile de chroniquer une démo à un an d’intervalle. La review à t’elle encore alors un quelconque impact alors qu’un longue période s’est écoulée depuis la sortie du produit en question ?
Peu importe serais je tenté de dire dans le cas de HUMAN DIRGE, puisque la musique proposée semble hors du temps.
Ne me demandez pas de lui mettre une étiquette ou de la qualifier, j’en serais bien incapable.
La première impression que j’ai eue en écoutant Embryo EP, m’a rappelé ce que j’ai ressenti lorsque j’ai découvert MANILLA ROAD il y a …un paquet de temps !
Tout d’abord, les similitudes de voix, assez étranges et inclassables, et la musique, n’appartenant à aucun courant précis. On sent aussi quelques influences du PARADISE LOST de Gothic, ainsi que quelques relents d’OPETH parfois pour le lyrisme sombre.
Quelques passages sobrement Death apportent une touche d’agressivité bienvenue et la qualité instrumentale est certaine, mais…
Mais la linéarité de l’ensemble occulte quelque peu les qualités de cette démo, et il semblerait judicieux la prochaine fois, pour un album longue durée par exemple, de diversifier quelque peu les climats et les structures de composition.
Les chansons ont en effet tendance à se répéter, et dans un style aussi hermétique, il faut le génie d’un NEUROSIS pour pouvoir s’en tirer avec les félicitations.
Je donnerais quand même les encouragements à HUMAN DIRGE pour ses choix personnels et j’attends un éventuel album pour être plus catégorique.
