A force d’aller prendre le déjeuner chez les autres, puisque l’on dit toujours que c’est meilleur ainsi, on en oublie qu’il y a de quoi s’éclater la panse à la maison. Au lieu de se masturber sur les autres scènes européennes qui souvent finissent par lasser (au hasard, les envahissants Death mélodique à la suédoise et Power Metal finlandais), il serait bon de se pencher un peu sur des groupes français qui n’ont rien à envier à leurs voisins. 20 ans après TRUST, GOJIRA a enfin explosé sur le plan international. Avec In Veins, Hearts And Minds … (sorti le 1er Avril, non non c’est pas un blague …), faites que DYSLESIA suive le même chemin.
Car le quintet lyonnais, auteur de déjà trois albums et qui a roulé sa bosse avec IRON SAVIOR, SYMPHONY X, RAGE ou encore SHAMAN, mérite d’y arriver. Déjà parce qu’il ne fait rien comme les autres. Entre un début d’album (« All That Will Be ») qui lorgne clairement du côté du Thrash, et des titres volontairement accrocheurs (« Earthquake » ou encore « Golden Path »), le Power Metal de DYSLESIA n’a rien de commun avec celui que vous connaissez par cœur.
Ici, point de chanteur aux burnes coincées dans la porte, Thierry Lebourg officie dans un registre beaucoup plus agressif, un peu comme le fit Coburn Pharr sur le Never, Neverland d’ANNIHILATOR. Idem pour les grattes et la section rythmique : on est bien loin du son trop clean à la « Monsieur Propre » de Mikko Karmila. In Veins, Hearts, And Minds … transpire le son live et gras, la prestation scénique, la sueur des concerts. La prod’ de Thierry Mas fait son effet, de même que les riffs pondus par la paire guitaristique Fabrice Dutour / François Loprete (pas du riff de lopette ça !!!… OK, je sors …).
Même s’il serait chauvin et subjectif de parler d’album incontournable (parfois un peu inégal au niveau des compos), sachez, amis lyonnais, que vous m’avez mis une belle baffe !
