Si le nom de Michael BORMANN ne vous dit pas grand-chose, alors je peux supposer que vous n’avez jamais entendu parler de JADED HEART, dont il était le front-man. Proposant une musique aussi énergique que mélodique, ce groupe se commit dans des albums d’assez bonne qualité. Ceci étant, Michael n’a pas attendu les années 90, puisque sa carrière à débuté au milieu des années 80, et qu’il a participé en tant que songwriter à de nombreux albums.
Un mercenaire ? Pas si sur, et à l’écoute de ce Capture The Moment, on réalise que si ses services sont si souvent sollicités, c’est qu’il y a une raison. Et une bonne, l’homme à du talent !
Et Dieu sait si la fabrication d’un bon album de Hard-FM est difficile. En effet il faut avoir la science du dosage entre les harmonies et la puissance, sinon le gâteau devient trop sucré, ou le chili trop épicé.
Tout d’abord, au niveau instrumental, rien à dire. L’exécution est parfaite, le son brillant, et le bonhomme à une voix qui remplit les pistes sans jamais bouffer l’espace vital de ses petits copains.
Ensuite, au niveau des compos, pas de problèmes on a affaire à un artisan du refrain qui tue, à un maître es riffs costauds mais taillés pour les radios.
Les hits s’alignent, et on alterne entre les tripes, le cœur, et le reste. Les recettes sont connues, et éprouvées un bon nombre de fois, mais ça fonctionne, et on se surprend à dodeliner de la tête plus s’une fois.
Alors les influences sont là, pourquoi le nier, et la vague des DANGER DANGER, TYKETTO, SLAUGHTER s’échoue plus d’une fois sur les rivages du sieur BORMANN, mais à quoi bon argumenter, le Hard-FM à des codes, autant les respecter en essayant d’apporter sa touche personnelle.
Alors on écoute attentivement les 14 titres de cet album, et on note large, car le travail bien fait mérite toujours une récompense. Jetez vous illico sur des morceaux comme « Friends For A Lifetime » et son refrain imparable, « Live Your Life » et sa dynamique radiophonique, « I Wanna Hear Your Voice », très DEF LEPPARD, l’excellent « Half Way Down », la meilleure du lot, «Don’t Bother Me », ou Michael partage le chant avec Sabine EDLESBACHER de EDENBRIDGE, « For Just A Little While » et son parfum très Richard MARX, pour finir sur la troisième ballade, très belle « Go Going Home » toute en nuances, ou la voix utilise toute la palette d’émotions possible pour vous envoûter.
Si la musique est une peinture, Capture The Moment alterne les tons pastel avec les contrastes plus sombres, pour au final se poser en tant que tableau qu’on prend plaisir à regarder encore et encore. Et si le chant est un pinceau, celui de Michael BORMANN est fin, très fin, et lui permet d’utiliser les couleurs du cœur.
Le votre, qui sera capturé par le charme d’un album classieux.
